About Me

My wife (Lewis) and I (Clark) plan on beginning our bike tour in Astoria, OR and ending in Boothbay Harbor, ME.  Lewis and Clark seemed an apt name, since we’ll be beginning our journey on the Lewis & Clark Trail.  Lewis also happens to be Sharon’s maiden name.  Clark requires a little more explanation.  My daughter, Kathleen, likes to call me Clark, as in Clark Kent -  not because she thinks I’m a Superman, but because she thinks I look like Clark when I wear my glasses.

I have dreamed of doing this tour for over 30 years, and at 59 I’m blessed to have the flexibility, good health, and the support, courage, and companionship of my wife to finally make it a reality.

Our daughters who live in Portland will see us off and we hope some friends and family will welcome us in Maine.  We had planned on doing this trip in 2020 but COVID had other plans.
