South Dakota Headwind - The Sequel!

Today, we rode 46 miles of rolling hills into a steady headwind from the southeast. While our scenery consisted of mostly cornfields and soybean fields, we did begin to see more water - marshlands and lakes.

One highlight of the day was our stop at the Valley Restaurant across from the soybean processing center in Volga, SD. Today they were offering fifteen different varieties of homemade pie for only a $1.50 per slice with your meal. We tried the lemon meringue and the coconut custard. Delicious!

Early start out of DeSmet
